Nations2Nations (N2N) is an international faith-based movement dedicated to restoring the identity, dignity, and divine destiny of all cultures. Operating within the Youth With A Mission network, N2N empowers indigenous groups and diverse nationalities to express their faith through their unique cultural heritages. The ministry fosters deep reconciliation and global unity by encouraging people to honor God using their native languages, arts, and traditions. Through cross-cultural mobilization and community development, N2N transforms communities globally, equipping believers to impact society while fully embracing their God-given cultural identity.
International Team
Edwin Fillies
Edwin is from South Africa and has served with YWAM for 35 years. His obedience and call became the catalyst for many from his own community and family to follow God. His Great Commission passion has taken him to over 75 nations as part of the Nations2Nations ministry that he co-founded in 2001. Edwin currently leads the YWAM campus in Muizenberg, Cape Town, South Africa. He serves with several international leadership circles of YWAM such as the Founders’ Circle. Edwin is married to Diana, originally from Switzerland, and they live with their four children in South Africa.
Giacommo COGHI
Giacomo is from Costa Rica and joined YWAM in 1995. He leads the YWAM San Jose campus in Costa Rica alongside his wife, Marjolein, from the Netherlands. YWAM San Jose was pioneered in 2004 and is currently developing a 14-hectare University of the Nations campus. Giacomo serves in the President’s Office for the UofN, as well as the YWAM Founders’ Circle. He holds an Executive Master of Arts in Leadership from the UofN.
Virmz Largo
Virmz is from the Philippines and has served with YWAM for over 20 years. His nomadic journey and call took him to Europe before pioneering a life of service in Africa and now Japan. His passion focuses on training hundreds of students in "Lifestyle Missions" through the Discipleship Training School program. Virmz currently serves as an elder with YWAM in Japan. He works to network and mobilize global Christians to reach unreached tribes and tongues. Virmz is affectionately known by his African friends as "Sinethemba," a Xhosa name meaning "we have a hope."
Joseph Avakian
Joseph is from too many countries, to name one. He is of Armenian decent, born in Lebanon, raised in Cyprus, and id now a citizen of Germany. He Joined YWAM in 1985 and has since traveled with his family and resided in many nations serving in different capacities. Joseph's focus over the decades, have been Biblical identity, worldview and intercultural communication. He is sought after speaker, mentor and serves as an elder, advisor to ywam centers, and young and upcoming leaders.
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is a decentralized global Christian movement dedicated to serving Jesus worldwide. Founded in 1960, YWAM operates in over 180 countries with a primary focus on knowing God and making Him known. The organization empowers people from all walks of life to engage in evangelism, training, and practical mercy ministries. By mobilizing thousands of volunteers each year, YWAM serves diverse populations, provides disaster relief, and initiates sustainable community development projects to meet both spiritual and physical needs globally.
The University of the Nations (UofN) serves as the official training arm of YWAM, offering modular, real-world education worldwide. Operating on a unique global campus model, UofN provides specialized programs in fields like arts, sciences, communication, and ministry. The university combines intensive classroom study with immediate cross-cultural field application, teaching students to apply biblical principles to all spheres of society. This hands-on approach equips students to bring long-term practical transformation and spiritual renewal to communities in need.
